Privacy Policy – Secure File Transfer

All data stays on your device. Husky Haul is a peer-to-peer file transfer service. Files, messages, and URLs are sent directly between devices – our server never sees or stores your content.

1. What We Don't Collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to:

Files you transfer
Messages you send
URLs you share

All content is transmitted directly between devices using WebRTC peer-to-peer connections. The server acts only as a signaling intermediary to help devices find each other.

2. What We Collect

We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to operate the service:

Anonymous device identifier – a randomly generated ID, not linked to your identity
Share metadata – share code, status (active/matched/completed), time-to-live, and a title (up to 50 characters)

This metadata is used solely to coordinate transfers between devices and is automatically deleted when the share expires.

3. WebRTC & TURN Relay

All peer-to-peer connections are encrypted with DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security). When a direct connection is not possible, traffic may be relayed through a TURN server (coturn). Even in relay mode:

The TURN server cannot decrypt your content – end-to-end DTLS encryption is preserved
No content is stored on the relay server
Relay connections are temporary and closed after the transfer completes

4. Local Storage

The application stores cryptographic keys and authentication tokens in your browser's IndexedDB:

An ECDSA key pair used to sign requests – the private key is non-extractable and never leaves your device
Authentication tokens (JWT) for device identification
Encrypted TURN credentials (if you configure a custom TURN server)

This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

5. No Cookies

Husky Haul does not use cookies. We do not track your browsing activity or maintain cross-session identifiers through cookies.

6. No Analytics or Third-Party Trackers

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or analytics tools. There are no external scripts loaded on our pages.

7. Children's Privacy

Husky Haul is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
